Someone asked  me  this in the  pub I was  in today. He heard it at a quiz night but never stayed for the answer. It is a City related question.

Which team did City play when they used 5  goalkeepers during the game. I think it may have been during the 70's  and Wallington was  one the  regular GK  who may have been injured early on. Whitworth could have been another.

A few years before my time, but didn't we have 3 against Shrewsbury in the 1982 FA Cup Quarter Final? Wallington, Young and Lynex I think. After the regular keeper, Wallington, was hurt and Young went between the sticks, I seem to recall hearing that Young went off injured, Lynex replaced him in goal, but as you only had 1 sub at the time, Young came back on and replaced Lynex in goal again.

No doubt there are plenty of people on here who can correct me. I'd have been about 3 at the time!

That's still only 3 keepers though.

You can shave your chest, that's fine. Don't do your armpits though, that's a bit gay. Plus at this time of the year, you'll sweat an incredible amount.

I trim the pubic area every once in a while, still not found a way to do it without getting blood everywhere.

And I wanted to die when my housemate walked into the bathroom as I had one foot on the side of the bath, hovering above a mirror, trying to carefully maneuver a bic razor along my gooch and arse crack.

He nearly pissed himself.

Looked like a f***ing pornstar once I'd finished though.

Id suggest just trimming ONLY the hair or, using a razor rather than a machete

Had three different players in goal in the 3-3 draw with Palace in the cup in the 2001 Wothington Cup run as well. Arpexad, Flowers, Zagorakis.

Does anyone use a bike to work scheme? I've been looking into getting a decent bike for a while now and I've been told about this scheme.

I got a £700 bike for about £300 a few years ago.  You get a deduction on the bike & then you get a deduction in how much tax you pay as well.  I paid something like £25 a month in instalments out of my wages for a year & saved myself about that in fuel costs by cycling to work & back.

Can anyone recommend a family solicitor?

I'm not looking for a divorce, but my missus is.

She's been separated from her husband for about 8 years, so technically I'm going with a married woman at the moment.

It's never been a problem, as she still gets on relatively well with her husband & I've no intention of ever marrying her.  It's just that she has finally decided to get a divorce & wants to 'move on'.

So, is there anyone on here who got screwed by their missus or knows of anyone who got taken to the cleaners?  Who was their other half's solicitor?

As with most tax-efficient benefits, there's a whole set of complicated rules that come with it. Whether or not this is a good deal for you depends on 1) which tax band you are in, 2) how much you want to spend on the bike/equipment, 3) what you choose to do at the end of the 12 month hire period.

This is as good an article as I could find setting out pros and cons http://moneystepper.com/save-money/is-cycle-to-work-scheme-worth-it/

I've used it twice and found it great. Because you're paying it back before tax you not only get an interest free loan, you also save money. You can get a voucher up to £1000, and can use it for safety accessories as well as the bike. Get things like helmet, waterproofs, lights, locks etc. on it too. You save about 30% if you're a basic rate tax payer or 40% if you're higher rate. There are different rules though if you already have some kind of company vehicle (I don't think the tax benefits are as good).

The only weird thing is that, technically, you don't own your bike after 12 months. Option one is to pay a one off sum (18% if your voucher was less than £500, or 25% if it was £500 or more) and own it outright. Option two is to keep riding it for free, but accept that it's still owned by whoever you bought it from (Evans Cycles in the case of our scheme) and you're effectively leasing it for free. After 5 years (from the original voucher issue date) it gets transferred over to you properly for free. I think this bit is just to stop you selling it after 12 months and making a profit lol  Vicki Vixen's link explains this much better.

How do blind people know the route to a place they need to visit? Given they have guide dogs, how do they know the route to, say, a pharmacist?

Via 'smell' of certain shops, and keeping them in memory?

A lot of people classed as blind still can see shadows or certain colours. For some it is just a blurred vision. Other than what Wymeswold has posted I do not know. When my stepdad first started to lose his sight he found it difficult to distinguish between a door opening and  the glass on it so often walked into the door. He still tried to make the cups of tea when anyone visited abeit with a few chosen curse word. My mum just let him get on with it as he was so insistent of having a do.

What language do deaf people think in?

That is a complex question. For myself, I mostly think in sign language but sometimes I think in the spoken language especially if I am talking to myself in the head. I have known deaf people who think entirely in spoken language which is common if they are good at talking or have some degree of hearing.  We also sometimes speak fully instead of signing in our dreams.

I' ve always wanted to learn sign language. I did once download and print off the alphabet but gave it somebody who needed it.

I don't  know anyone  that is deaf but always wanted to know what the conversation is about when seeing it done. I guess I am nosey.

So you think of the hand movements and gestures? Also if you are born deaf how do you learn to read if you don't know what the words sound like.

Yeah that is right. As for reading, I have always thought we all learnt the same way- to memorise letters then words and their meaning. I am aware that we learn to spell in different way- hearing people learn phonologically while deaf people learn in blocks such as Leic-est-er.  There is a special term for it but I can't remember the word.

Have you ever heard a person who is born deaf talk? Don't get me wrong they make a bloody good job of it but its hardly poetic.
