stripeyfox Posted 21 March 2011 Share Posted 21 March 2011 Just a quick question which hopefully someone can answer. I've got Football Manager 2011 and Civilization V (both retail versions with disc) which I installed on my system on Steam. Civ V is great but is a bit much for my computer so I may sell it. Question is : when you install on Steam you no longer need the disc right? So what's to stop me selling it and if I wanted, carry on playing as well? More importantly, if I did sell it, along with the CD key etc, would my purchaser be able to install it and play it? Would I need to uninstall it first? Christoph Posted 21 March 2011 Share Posted 21 March 2011 It will install but most likely wont play online as the cd key would be registered to your steam account online
stripeyfox Posted 21 March 2011 Author Share Posted 21 March 2011 Having done a bit of digging around it does indeed seem to be the case that you can't sell a game that has been registered on Steam. Which is a bit of a bastard but never mind.
Part Of The Crowd Posted 21 March 2011 Share Posted 21 March 2011 I tried to trade in FM11 the other day as I don't really play it, forgetting about the CD key thing, they won't accept it as it's tied to one account.
