Alf Bentley Posted 27 April 2011 Share Posted 27 April 2011 Sad, sad news - especially as I think she'd just started a comeback with a new solo album. Here's some more for anyone interested or unfamiliar: I'm old enough to remember how awful it was to be a teenage male in dreary mid-70s England, washed over with bland, crappy music (bit like today, in fact!) - and what a life-enhancing rescue it was when punk rock happened. God only knows how bad it must have been to be female as well, with a load of subservient. blonde dolly-birds as almost the only role model...until the advent of Poly Styrene and the Slits (RIP Ari Up last year, too, that's a bad run).
