Craig Mackail-Smith

I'm only coming round to the idea of him signing for us due to the glowing reports people gave him on the football forum this week. My gut instinct however tells me that Maynard is a better financial investment.

Cms if it's confirmed is a good buy. On ability I rate him danns and schmeichel. Certainly better than that pre season when mad dog bought hellings, casino jimmy et al. Presumably tho we're playing rockerfeller wages to get these guys to pick us over premier league teams?

Can't argue with his goals records in L1 - interesting how many of those were pens?

Only negative is price tag and the fact he seems a bit awkward when he finishes, still scores plenty so I'm sure he will do here. Big expectation so I hope he handles it, worried if he's our Number 1 goalscorer next season though.

Coming round to the idea of this...which means an 11th hour West Ham bid.

Hope this doesn't rule out Maynard. The 2 of them together would be incredible.

Agreed. Maybe if the monetary sum mentioned elsewhere is correct Sven will still be going for Maynard. If not, I trust his judgement.

Like i said, one hell of a player.

It hurt me to confirm it earlier, and it'll hurt me a hell of a lot more tomorrow when he's pictured in a Leicester shirt, but I wish him all the best, he deserves it.

Though, I hope to god he doesn't score against us, I'll be on suicide watch, that really will hurt lol.

I wish Leicester all the best for the upcoming season, treat our Craig well. You've just gained about 6500 part time fans purely due to this transfer and us wanting to see how well he does.

He's a Posh legend, no doubt about it. No player will ever replace him. All the best!

I'm sure he'll show your fans the respect he owes you by not celebrating if he scores.

He won't celebrate. He refused to celebrate vs Dagenham for the fact they gave him his chance in football. He's got a lot of respect for those who helped him. As said before, he's not just a top player, he's a genuinely top guy. Always remembers where he came from and who helped him. Always has time for fans.

What a nice guy you are. Not one of the bitter other fans that come on here. Massive respect mate, and good luck to posh next season.

Fook me at last, people coming round to the idea.im ready to be shot down in flames if he does not do well(if he signs)but as i have said right from the start he has improved so much over the past season.went with a mate to see posh a few times last year and i was shocked,he was decent fairly quick on his feet also.

He is shit at cricket though 1st baller last year at my customers charity cricket match,it explains why he did not play last sunday and Barry Fry was a no show.

I said to him last year he would look good in a Leicester shirt and i think Barry Fry used some choice words infront of the kids to me!!

Haha, cheers!

I don't think you'll find a Posh fan with a bad word to say against CMS. You'll see for yourselves the reception he gets when we play eachother. He's a legend.

Some will be disappointed he's gone to another Championship side, but you're a bigger club, with bigger potential than us, and you will be in the play offs at the very least, that I have no doubt.

Personally, i think CMS has made the right move, good club, good fans, first team football, decent wage. Just hope you lot give him time, if you do, he'll most definitely repay you. If not, I'll come on here and you can all abuse me so you feel better. :P

I'm sure he'll do a cracking job for us.

And PoshFan would make a cracking salesman, he's turned Mackail-Smith into Messi with a few words. Hero.

Funnily enough, I work in Sales lol

Maybe I should go for Barry Fry's job, and get that annoying fat idiot out of our club!

Well you've done a sterling job of turning "urgh mackail-smith, rather we didn't" into "can't wait for him to bag 20+ next season!" With just 6 posts.

You're getting decent money for him, if that's reinvested into the squad and with Fergie jnr's contacts (his old man) you could build a team capable of staying up. Good luck to you guys.

Isnt here a topic on them hating us?

Yeah, a lot of their chavs are desperately trying to build up a rivalry between us but we just aren't biting.

I am quite genuine in wanting Posh to stay up though, pretty close to Leicester or Lincolnshire so it's a doable away day wherever I end up, good old school ground, nice pubs there and I have some friends in Peterborough as well.

Give me London Road over the Ricoh Arena any day of the week.

This is where we find out tomorrow that he signs for West Ham and PoshFan knew all along, it was all a big wind up and he is laughing his head off at us

I bet he has the same thread on the West Ham fans forum :giggle:

lol

West Ham have done nothing more than enquire. For the record, Fry wants him to go to West Ham (If you're not aware, CMS is dating Fry's daughter, and has her pregnant) so Fry wants him to go where CMS will earn more money.

CMS has never said anything about West Ham, he rejected QPR, but has never favoured a move anywhere. The only thing CMS has stated about the whole thing is that it's not about money, it's about where he feels is best for his career. After speaking to Sven, Leicester is clearly that, if not, he'd have said no like he did QPR.

Posh Fan, is he better than Tony Adcock and Tony Philliskirk as strikers' in the Posh shirts.

Also, whatever happened to Andy Furnell??
