Stevosevic Posted 4 July 2011 Share Posted 4 July 2011 IanStringerBBC Ian Stringer Craig Mackail Smith, who met Sven last week (plus Posh chairman said he 'expected' him to sign for #lcfc ) has joined Brighton. Interesting
cc_star Posted 4 July 2011 Share Posted 4 July 2011 Signed for Brighton according BBC Cambs A statement of their ambition? Just been looking at a couple of their signings - I'd expect them to be around the play-offs
ithuriel Posted 4 July 2011 Share Posted 4 July 2011 So Bert and the lad who came up with that other rumour we're spot on then, too greedy and WHU and city backed off.

DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 4 July 2011 Share Posted 4 July 2011 I am not going to worry about whether he comes here or not. At the end of the day, Sven will have formed a side, ready to challenge for promotion next season.

BTON Posted 4 July 2011 Share Posted 4 July 2011 To be fair to the lad, he'll be worshipped by all 6000 fans when the season kicks off! ....erm...slightly out of date...we have already sold 18500 season tickets..... Can understand everyones frustration...and possible dis-belief if he does sign for Brighton...(I,ll believe it when I see it too...!). Whoever he signs for...good luck this season.......used to live for many years in Leics....lovely people.

General Smuts Posted 4 July 2011 Share Posted 4 July 2011 Shame that as we've a good record with players up front who run about like headless chickens. But £3m was a bit steep. Its all about Jong Tae Se now!

wurmer Posted 4 July 2011 Share Posted 4 July 2011 http://www.skysports.com/football/transfer_clockwatch/0,23710,14896,00.html Speculation: Skysports.com understands Brighton have won the race for Peterborough striker Craig Mackail-Smith. He's bottled it - obviously likes his League 1 football - no shame in that Best of luck.. Next!

Callabinho Posted 4 July 2011 Share Posted 4 July 2011 Hand on heart.. I didnt want him anyway. Not for £3 million... Move on people - move on. Same, he could easily crumble, anyway this wont please the owners too much, missing out on a top target, I suspect the next Maynard bid to be a very very serious one. kingfox Posted 4 July 2011 Share Posted 4 July 2011 Sky Sports website has confirmed that Mackail-Smith has joined Brighton. Is he deluded? I know they have backing, but mid-table mediocrity surely turned down the Premier League and the two favourites in the Championship for Brighton. Transfer shocker, bring in Maynard or we might aswell kiss our hopes of goals goodbye.
teblin Posted 4 July 2011 Share Posted 4 July 2011 Very strange one. Plenty of other strikers around, it may see us turn to one that is not proven in english football.
JimmyB Posted 4 July 2011 Share Posted 4 July 2011 Not too disappointed, according to my poll we'd much prefer Maynard anyway, fingers crossed we get him or the Yak.

Whoever he signs for...good luck this season.......used to live for many years in Leics....lovely people. Good luck to you to. Although you did very well last season, and look ambitious this season, whether I want him or not, I cannot understand what you have offered that we/QPR/Norwich/WHU couldn't offer? No offence, but I'm sure you'd believe that us/West Ham have much more promotion chance, and QPR and Norwich are Prem! I'm sure any of us could match wages you'd offer. Only thing I could possibly think of is that at Brighton he'd be guaranteed a starting spot... not so much at us and the others?
