The "do they mean us?" thread

Recommended Posts

Hope we play a weakened team in cup get smashed 80-20 on possession and we win on pens

That, but I'd rather it be just about to go to penalties then we score a completely undeserved goal. Maybe Dyer pushes it over the goal line with his hand and the ref allows it

Total meltdown from all the Spurs players and fans, Potch absolutely furious, (in)justice served!

lol we aren't allowed to win the ball back now... how dare we make it hard for them to score

Vertonghen said: “They played their same game. They play the ball up to their strikers..."

Shameful.

It makes me embarrassed to see us playing the ball to our strikers.

Vertonghen comes out and says they knew how we would play and that it works for us, not quite sure how that's him crying or slamming us...

People need to stop looking for external negatives constantly. Jeez. It's like things are going to well within the club that people need to feed off of some negativity elsewhere.

Yep. This thread suddenly just seems to be about finding the weirdest opinion about us we can and getting all pissy about it.

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/6860289/Jan-Vertonghen-slams-Leicester-after-Tottenham-defeat.htmlNow Vertongen is crying.

I find the line about when you have the ball, they kick it to the forwards, when they don't they defend as a team really funny.  As if this allowed in football.

Also regarding him saying our players cheat and block off at set pieces, he's the worst at fouling and getting away with it, didn't he pull Leo back last season just as he was about to take a shot?

I can imagine a lot of games are getting really frustrating for Riyad as he gets 2/3 men on him and constantly fouled when he skins people.  Carroll was chopping him all game.

Love this, it makes victory all the more sweeter.

Boo hoo, Leicester are rubbish and just defend and Huth the ball forward to play kick and rush. (see what I did there?)  :)

We're such neanderthals and you still can't beat us, boo hoo again.  :D

I find it incredibly amusing that Tottenham have spent 20 years or more trying to achieve what we are probably going to do in 2, and that is break the top 3. If they genuinely think we are so poor then they have massively insulted their own team because our 'boring' tactics have got the better of them. Again.

Danny Drinkwater's forward thinking, Marc Albrighton flying down the left and a rock solid duo at the back... how Claudio Ranieri has turned Leicester into title contenders

Hope when he retires he joins Owen in commentary.

all we're missing is "when they first get the ball they pass it needlessly between their centre backs for half an hour" and we would be a respected top 4 side

It's interesting how fans seem to think that having lots of possession means they are a great team and should win by default.  So many times Spurs would pass the ball across the back, little passes to midfield, back to the defenders, left to right then a run down the wing and instead of crossing it in, turn back and start play again that might result in a long shot.

As soon as we get the ball we aim to get an attack going.  If our possession, corners, passes, shots are less than Spurs yet we win that would lead you to believe that we are doing something right in the limited time with the ball and Spurs are doing lots wrong with theirs.

nailed it

Thanks Vertonghen, great compliment.

Now its been confirmed, foreigners in London learn quickly how to be slimey, ' blame everybody else syndrome'

Bed deep in southern character. Now we see why spurs cant hack it, all mommy boys who need their comfort blanket.

We must have the professionalism of Revies boys.

Vertonghen should play softball, it more gentile.

Claudio's mobsters, are looking to celebrate st Valentines, there is a massacre in the air..:)

That article is more The S*n having a pop at us, rather than the player

The Sun article is butchered from The Guardian, back handed compliments “They always approach every game in the same way, so we knew what to expect – they kick every ball they get long and run. And when they don’t have the ball, they all defend. But it works for them.”
