There is a huge chance that Froch would of finished him... Groves' legs were gone but its not for certain, anything can happen and the ref stopped it way too early....

Can see why the ref stopped it. Looked like he was holding Groves up at the end, he could have gone down and made the count but also he could have got knocked clean out. It's a very tough call for him because now, refs are told now to protect fighters from going out cold it's so tough to call.

What a brilliant fight, spoilt by a poor referee. Shame because Grove's was the better boxer but I think that Froch would have knocked him out in that round if it had carried on, but wouldn't it have been great to see a true end to the fight.

Still think Froch would have won. Last few rounds Froch dragged him into a slugfest and had the upper hand. He was going to KO him IMO it was only a matter of time, ref stopped it early but don't think the result would have been different.

Nah, a lot of footballers are scumbags but it's not in the nature of the sport like it is in boxing. It's a necessity in commercial boxing to mouth off and act like a twat. It's mainly about lower class retards giving it the big'un. That's supposed to be the entertainment factor.

 

Boxing as a sport can be entertaining if it's a particularly good fight, but the circus around it makes it unbearable as a spectacle.

I hope these sorts of decisions don't start happening more often. It was just a routine barrage. Could have ended with Groves taking an 8 count and still going on to win. He might have been alright after a breather.

Refs are told if a man isn't defending himself and you think he's done stop the fight. Long gone are the days where you leave it till the man is lying on the floor with paramedics helping him come round. It's not ideal but hand on heart do you think Groves or Froch would have gone on to win from the position they were at in that 9th round? I can only see Froch winning.
