But anyway, I've made two blinding CDs this way so far, and the beauty of it is that I get to listen to songs that A) I'd forgotten all about (or how good they were) and B) I didn't know existed because I'd only played the CD once. Obviously there's the odd "dodgy" track (I mean dubious, not the band Dodgy) that pops up but that just adds to the fun. And yes, I know I could just get an iPod... Anyway, the new CD I'm going to make, having done a third random Excel selection is as follows: Dashboard Confessional - Reason To Believe Neil Young and Crazy Horse - Stupid Girl The Hold Steady - Charlemagne In Sweatpants Meat Puppets - Split Myself In Two Three Days Grace - Born Like This Teenage Fanclub - Everybody's Fool Flight Of The Conchords - A Kiss Is Not A Contract Unkle - Dolphinarium Badmeaningood - Scratch Perverts remix of DJ Shadow's Entropy Steely Dan - Hey Nineteen Distophia - Joanne Less Than Jake - KROQ Song Elvis Costello & The Brodsky Quartet - This Offer Is Unrepeatable Tom Waits - Chocolate Jesus Happy Mondays - Step On Air - You Make It Easy Ocean Colour Scene - Get Away Fulc - Dolly The Kills - No Wow Cat Stevens - Sitting Only a few there I'm not convinced I'll enjoy (Dashboard Confessional, Three Days Grace and Less Than Jake. Not even sure I'll still like the Ocean Colour Scene one) but that's the great thing about these things - they throw up so many surprises and make you revisit things you'd previously dismissed and sometimes even change your opinion. Ok I've rambled on long enough now. Well, I've played it a few times now, and I really didn't like the ones I wasn't sure I'd like. And the ones I really liked, I already knew extremely well.
