Last I heard he was interested in the Sampdoria job while still in charge of Basel.

Just seems to jump into the big clubs of different countries. Videoton, Tel Aviv, Basel etc.

Going to Fiorentina would be a much greater challenge of his managerial capabilities.

Except of course it's not a list of the "fastest players in the world," but merely a list of fast players.

Unless these figures are just to be ignored completely? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2901692/Newcastle-midfielder-Moussa-Sissoko-Premier-League-s-fastest-player.html

Interesting to see Wasilewski on that list of top speeds recorded by players.

Fiorentina have appointed Paulo Sousa as their coach, the Serie A club said on Sunday. The 44-year-old former Portugal midfielder has managed Queens Park Rangers, Swansea City and Leicester City in England, and left the Swiss club Basel last week after a year in the job.

“Fiorentina is delighted to announce that an agreement has today been reached with Paulo Sousa for him to become the new first-team coach,” Fiorentina said in a statement on their website. “Sousa will be in Florence tomorrow to complete the formalities.”

Sousa, who won the Champions League as a player with Juventus and Borussia Dortmund, replaces the former Italy striker Vincenzo Montella. Montella was sacked this month after leading Fiorentina to fourth place in Serie A and the semi-final of the Europa League. He was dismissed, according to the club, for a lack of respect and causing a breakdown in trust with the fans.
