Frost Posted 25 June 2015 Share Posted 25 June 2015 Bee Taechaubol bought 49% of Milan (pretty sure he's Thai). Prefer AC to Inter but it'd be good to see Serie A make a come back, just a shame about the stadia and attendances though. Oh, and the match-fixing. LCFC1996 Posted 25 June 2015 Share Posted 25 June 2015 More Serie A; Roma have bought the remaining 50% of Nainggolan & Bertolacci, as well as Iago Falque and Ibarbo (loan) all from Cagliari over the last few days for around €32m + add ons, Bertolacci could end up being sold to Milan 'at the right price'. Sassuolo to buy Juventus' 50% of Berardi with Juve having an €18m option to sign him next year.
Frost Posted 25 June 2015 Share Posted 25 June 2015 Yeh I saw that, Juve have done the Berardi deal for FFP compliance, he will 99% join next summer. All co-ownerships expire today, finally.
AKCJ Posted 25 June 2015 Share Posted 25 June 2015 Glad the co-ownership thing has gone, purely because it makes Football Manager a little bit more annoying.

MC Prussian Posted 26 June 2015 Share Posted 26 June 2015 A somewhat funny story from the US: The American Soccer Association has banned Clint Dempsey for at least two years from all US Open Cup competitions, this after he ripped apart the referee's notepad in an cup derby against the Portland Timbers ten days ago: http://www.espnfc.com/us-open-cup/story/2504324/clint-dempsey-banned-from-us-open-cup-for-at-least-2-years

Foxes1 Posted 7 July 2015 Share Posted 7 July 2015 So one of the newer nations have been asking FIFA for help after conceding 114 goals in just 3 games in the Pacific games. Micronesia a group of Pacific Islands have lost all 3 games. The first was a 30-0 loss, the second a 38-0 loss to Fiji and their 3rd defeat to Vanuatu they got beat 46-0 how a team manages to score a goal every 2 minutes must really take some beating. Wymsey Posted 7 July 2015 Share Posted 7 July 2015 Teams like San Marino and the like should be in their own Euro leagues, etc (or even a play-off before the Euro's etc). Not being competitive against average/top national teams will only become predictable and eventually boring,
Bilo Posted 7 July 2015 Share Posted 7 July 2015 What the hell would a top 10 side do to them if Vanuatu can put 46 past them?!
Stadt Posted 7 July 2015 Share Posted 7 July 2015 Surely 11 English 17 year old amateurs wouldn't get beat 46-

RobHawk Posted 7 July 2015 Share Posted 7 July 2015 Anyone seen the film 'next goal wins' about American Samoa? Good film and worth a watch if you've not seen! Some interesting nations over that way!
foxes_rule1978 Posted 7 July 2015 Share Posted 7 July 2015 Their players clearly are about as good as if you just walked out your front door and selected the nearest 11 people to play...

Dan LCFC Posted 8 July 2015 Share Posted 8 July 2015 That's just ridiculous I literally think eleven randomers would probably beat them. How do you get it that wrong?
RobHawk Posted 8 July 2015 Share Posted 8 July 2015 That's just ridiculous I literally think eleven randomers would probably beat them. How do you get it that wrong? Tiny population and football not being a big sport over there. Probably no coaches to help organise them. It's easy for us to mock as we grow up playing from a young age, get coached by experienced players and coaches, but imagine having nothing and starting from scratch. But at least they are trying, and they have to start somewhere
Alexikokopops Posted 8 July 2015 Share Posted 8 July 2015 Up Pohnpei is an amusing enough read about a guy who went out to Pohnpei to try and form/coach their national team to glory.
