Milan beat Inter 3-0 today in the derby.

Niang, the guy we were linked with on Friday, scored their 3rd.

Eder started for Inter and missed a couple of decent chances in the first half. Inter were fairly poor in the 2nd half though.

And in Bayern vs Hoffenheim, Kramaric apparently missed about 3 or 4 really good opportunities.

To be taken from this:

Buy Niang...

We did well to avoid Eder

And right to let Kramaric leave

Watched Kramaric, first chance the keeper saved for the second he burst clear and just put it wide.

Can't believe Werder Bremen are where they are, consistent CL qualifiers a few years ago. That's how it goes I guess one poor year.

There's no way miha is getting rid of niang. Even with the imminent return of menez. Nothing of the sort has been even hinted at here and they love a rumour.

we did contact Milan apparently but given he started and scored and looked fairly comfortable whilst playing he's not going anywhere.

He's better than Menez, too.

China are starting to invest heavily - they've begun implementing a Chinese player rule in the Portuguese Segunda Liga and now buy a lot of highly-touted (Brazilian) footballers for their own clubs back home.

First, Ramires for £25m, then Jackson Martinez for £31m.

Alex Teixeira is next - for a rumoured transfer fee of a whopping £38.4m:

The Chinese company sponsoring the deal with the Portuguese 2nd division has dropped the proposed requirement that all its teams have Chinese players in their lineups after much outcry from the players union and others. Other "exchange program" aspects are expected to be implemented, though: http://en.yibada.com/articles/101381/20160128/china-football-portugal-segunda-ligas-chinese-sponsor-drops-demand-mandatory.htm

The money being spent and offered by Super League clubs is mind-boggling, though I wonder how wise these investments are. Oscar is the latest rumored target, and Yaya Toure is apparently also in their sights.

Who other than the three Jiangsu have signed of significance has actually joined that league? Is it just Jiangsu throwing this money about or are there a lot of them at it but on a smaller scale?

Surely theres no hope of making that money back?  No matter how much money is spent on that league the players will just be there for the money and the league won't ever be attractive to the fans around the world like our league is.

Last thing I heard is that the Chinese government are a major stakeholder and pumping money into the league like crazy. They have serious ambition to become World Champions at one point.

Not sure whether you can attain such a goal with a five- to ten-year plan, though. Looking at the state of Chinese football at the moment, it'll take more than that.

Love the idea that Carillo has only chosen Benfica to further piss off Sporting. Probably hasn't but still.

Allow me to explain. He has been treated like shit by the Sporting chairman, he had one of the lowest wage of the team although he was a key player. He didn't care when Carrillo asked for a bigger wage. Carrillo ended the season with 7 goals and 18 assists (beast mode!), carried in shoulders by Sporting fans (literally) and ... 1 year of contract left.

He didn't wanted to renew his contract and the chairman pushed him away from the first team, Carrillo was, eventually, going to end up in the english or the spanish league in the end of the contract.

Benfica saw the opportunity (btw, FcPorto saw it too) and went for it. He's going to earn 8 times more than in Sporting (4M€), almost as much as Salvio, Nico Gaitán and Luisão.

Sorry for the long (very long, really) post.

Daily Mail says Mourinho may go to China as a consultant. Things are getting weird in China. Ramires, Guarín, Alex Teixeira, Jackson Martínez...

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3433663/Jose-Mourinho-latest-target-Chinese-Super-League-want-bring-sacked-Chelsea-boss-consultant.html

David Moyes said yesterday that he has an offer for a job in China, too, so there's that.

battle of the big guns in france tonight guys. marseille vs psg. zlatan scores inside 2 minutes.

HOWEVER

steven fletcher is on the bench so we're all expecting a marseille win.

i still don't quite understand Fletcher to Marseille lol.

Although didn't realise Marseille haven't won at home since September!

Remy Cabella equalises. Great run, unchallenged and scores from about 25 yards out.

yeah marseille have been shit for a year or so now, and not as in not as good as psg, as in really, really bad. which probably explains why they're relying on bringing steven fletcher on to rescue something if they're losing later on.
