Scottish Football

Used to to live in Nelson Street, Dundee and watch these derbies.

I take an interest in 'Cally Thistle, and have watched them a few times over the past four years

Dundee and Dundee United still bemuse me at how close they are, it's amazing.

They should have at least 16 teams in the top flight, 18 would be better. The current system is a farce but not quite as bad as European leagues which add points from the first half of the season into a final group stage, kinda making the whole 2nd half of the season pointless? Seem to do it in Poland and Belgium.

Has a league ever died on it's arse as quick as the SPL in history? Rangers v Motherwell had less than 100,000 viewers according to BARB.

Cos it was ppv on BT Sport.

Even though I was interested, I wasn't going to pay for it. I suspect a lot of people thought similarly.

Why don't Scotland wear their national colours, what's all this pink & yellow shit?

I'm pretty sure those kits are a poor modern tribute to yellow and rose Scottish kits of yore. Scotland has worn those colors at various times in their history, "Lord Rosenberry's colours" or something like that.

Three-quarters of Scotland's top-flight clubs told a BBC Scotland survey they would consider summer football.
Nine of the 12 Premiership teams were among the 27 of the country's 42 senior clubs who said they would be in favour of examining the possibility.
Only seven clubs said such a move would not interest them, with eight not offering a view.
The Scottish Professional Football League says it is open to debate on "a complex matter".
Since the BBC conducted the survey, Motherwell have been in touch to say they too are in favour of examining a switch to summer football.
It means that 10 of 12 Premiership clubs and 28 - two-thirds - of all 42 clubs now back such a move.

What do we all think about this? I think it'd be good for the Scottish league as they wouldn't be competing against the Premier League on TV and it would give the rest of us something to watch in the close season.
