Fallout 4

Bethesda has filed a trademark indicating that it may be producing a television series based on the Fallout universe.

A user on Bethesda's forums discovered the trademark filing, which grants Bethesda rights to the Fallout name in regards to "an ongoing television programme set in a post-nuclear apocalyptic world".

The trademark was filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office on January 8. The very next day, voice actor Eric Todd tweeted that fans can expect to hear more from his character ThreeDog in the future.

At the time, his tweet was speculated as a tease for Fallout 4, the rumoured sequel to 2008's Fallout 3. However, the timing in connection with Bethesda's trademark filing suggests that ThreeDog may instead be a character in a television series based on the games.

The trademark does not rule out Fallout 4, which has previously been rumoured to be set in Boston, with developer Bethesda allegedly researching the area as part of the development process.

Last year, Bethesda secured the rights to the Fallout MMO following a legal battle with Interplay.
