Looks like I'm not going to see some of the big boys on Sunday then!

I'm currently about 40 miles south of Troon and it is fvcking windy!

Wind in Scotland. Who'd have thought it lol

Even if some of the big boys miss the cut, you'll still have a great time.

Nothing (apart from the Ryder Cup) beats Sunday at the Open.

Yeah, the winds up and its started to rain - beautiful. I love seeing the pro's struggling in these conditions. It's a major and it's meant to be tough.

Anything under par today is a decent round.

Of course.

Makes it more challenging.

Shane Lowry does well in such conditions.

Rory looks like he needs a low score tomorrow...

Had a small bet on Bryson for the open. A links course should be perfect for him to just hit it as hard as he can and not get into any real trouble. If his approach game and putting is on point he'll go close IMO.

How to say I know nothing about links without etc.:D

Tiger won at Hoylake back in the day hitting no more than a 2 iron.  Driver for these guys is not neccesary its all about hitting fairways are avoiding the shitty stuff  The higher flight of a wood results on harsher bounces on the severly undulating fairways,  ditto the wind and the higher flighted shot.

The Masters shits all over it for me.

Granted it helps if it's a close finish which it hasn't been recently.

Today was a bit miserable crowd wise

Lowry looking great, Rory already making plans elsewhere for Saturday.

Walked 18 yesterday, might play again tomorrow. Watching the Open always makes me want to get out on the course, more than any other major.

Great stat they just put up. The worst score on each hole, just for today,  would give a combined round of 124!

No, they were folling me around Stranraer. These courses are a totally different game.

Stunning though

3 way battle over the weekend ?

All would be popular winners .

2 been there before and a rookie .

Hope so though I fear the Yanks lining up just behind may just have their say.

I'd say anyone within 10 shots still has a chance to win. Things can change so fast with the wind and we've seen triples and quads come out of nowhere when it starts gusting.

Wouldn't surprise me if the likes of Spieth at +2 or Rahm at +1 go out and shoot 66 if the conditions are benign earlier on tomorrow. Then Lowry and Rose could quite easily get shit conditions on their back 9 and go back to the field.

I hope things even themselves out a bit tomorrow so there's still plenty of players who have a chance going into Sunday.

This is really strange, I've barely seen an hour of this tournament on TV.

If i was at home, id have watched every second of it. But I'll be there on Sunday!

Any tips on the most dramatic holes to base myself on?

Last forecast was that the wind was going to die down Saturday andSunday, so you might see some lower scores and a dramatic day.

More favorable conditions today potentially leading to lower scores?

Just another beautiful summer day

Watching just a bit of this makes me so glad my Campbell ancestors up and left.

Dan Brown with his cheeky ciggies :D

Loving this, the weather is perfect Open conditions.

If I was a betting man I'd probably lump on Xander right now.

pleased to see the bad weather for the leaders which compresses the leader board for a Sunday shoot out
