All of the in game graphics have been stolen from old NES games, and Nintendo have threatened to sue him unless he took it down. It had nothing to do with his claim of it 'taking over his life'. The fact that he claims this has ruined his life, and he's now on the bbc website telling people he might make a sequel pretty much proves it.
