What Game Are You Playing At The Moment ?

Recommended Posts

Think I'm in a very small minority to be excited about this (Paradox gang assemble, <tumbleweed>) but the latest DLC for EU4 might be the best in ages.

New Mission Trees for the Northern nations are ludicrous but really fun to play, completely injected new life in to the game for me. Riga in particular is absolutely hilarious. Love it.

Also @The People's Hero I once told you it was ludicrously expensive to buy because of the ridiculous amount of DLC you sorta "need" to get the most out of the game.

I recently discovered they have an optional subscription model. You pay like £4 a month I think and while your subscription is active you automatically have access to all of the DLC. It's still a somewhat dubious business model but it does mean you can pick the base game up for cheap in a sale and then subscribe for a couple months and get the full experience for pretty cheap.

Interesting; thanks.

My new criteria (and I didn't see this coming) is .... 'is it playable on Steam Deck?'

Its taken me by surprise how much I've transitioned over to playing mainly on SD now.

I own POE 1 and 2 and I've never played through 2; so I'm considering giving those two a go as I'm assured they are playable.....

Back on Witcher 3 again for the 7th or 8th time. saw it on steam for £6, complete edition, so i bought it, and now im getting all the achievments on here too. in all the times i played the story, i never once did the 2 DLC's. becausei like the game so much and when i finish games, i dont like to play them again, so having that left to do always kept me coming back to it, and i keep stopping after the main campaign. not this time though, this time im gonna do it. amazingly, im still finding mission endings and secrets i havgen seen before. absolutely brilliant game

Blood and Wine is fantastic.  The achievements for the DLCs were a bit frustrating for me as most of them involve upgrading x which involves spending y money so became quiite the grind.  Still, better than crossbow headshots...

For those of you with a block fetish, in lockdown early last year me and a few others built Silverstone Circuit on Minecraft (Xbox) so all "hand-made" and not the easy way like PC would be. Rather large scale and went into deep detail including grandstands, food stalls, toilets, tractors/cranes, the red arrows and mapped out as far as the access roads on the outside of the track.

Deathloop now on Game Pass which I was looking forward to having seen much of the gaming press raving about it.

No idea what I was doing at first, but getting the hang of it.

It's not really an immersive sim in the same way that many of Arkane's games are, but it's a pretty unique premise. Plays exactly like Dishonored, though.

Just hope it doesn't get too repetitive.

I thought Deathloop sounded like a great idea for a game but never managed to really get into it.

Finished the story of Ghost of Tshumia and working my way through all side missions and finding everything within it. Rare that I get completely hooked on a game but I've put the best part of 40 hours into this one and only now is it starting to feel like I'm ready to walk away from it...... but just got to plough on and actually platinum a game for once.

Insanely addictive game alongside HOI. I've sunk hundreds if not thousands of hours into them both. HOI is a baby in comparison though.

Cant get enough of Rumbleverse. Though if you play at night, when the servers are busy, you can see visible lags which does bring some bullshit moments. That only seem to happen to me lol

Also Ace Attorney is getting interesting so i am just flicking between the 2 games. Still want to play God of War again before Ragnarok

Battlefield 2042. PS4. Is it worth it? Talk to me.

It has improved quite a bit since launch (especially on the technical side, though I can't vouch for the PS4 version specifically) but remains a very difficult game to recommend. They're gradually chipping away at its major issues - the horrid maps are getting overhauled one by one, they've stopped focusing on 128 player modes and they're meant to be reworking the Specialist system so they play more like traditional classes. Unfortunately, gradually is very much the word and despite EA and DICE's protestations, the reality seems to be that they've left a skeleton crew behind to clean up as much of the mess as they can until they've fulfilled their legal obligation to provide four seasons of content, at which point it'll presumably be dropped altogether.

If you can get it cheap, say a tenner or so, then I'd say it's likely you'll get just enough fun out of it to justify a purchase provided you keep your expectations low. Even then, you'd probably be better off just playing V or 1 unless you're absolutely desperate for a more modern setting and don't want to play 4, which for me personally really looks and feels its age on console.

I used to love BF1 and have recently been playing BFV since it was free to download a few months back and have really been enjoying it. I always wondered whether 2042 was worth purchasing now as I know on release it was unplayable so thought surely they must of sorted it out by now but I reckon I may just stick with V for now. I can pick up 2042 for about £15 so I might just wait it out a bit and then possibly pick it up at some point. Cheers 👍

Played through the original Half-Life, and its two expansion packs (Opposing Force and Blue Shift) over the past few weeks. Had never played it before but I thought gameplay-wise it held up very well for a game that will be a quarter of a century old next year, although the graphics are a little rough in comparison lol

Onto HL2 next, hopefully it lives up to its reputation as "one of the best games ever".

Family are away for the weekend. Going to finally be able to play my xbox for a period of time. I've downloaded death loop on game pass, any other recommendations for stuff on there? I'd love a binding of isaac type of game.

I really enjoyed Returnal. A brutal game but it kept me coming back for more. For a game built on repetitiveness it never really felt a chore. Cant go wrong for a free download

Medieval Dynasty - no idea why but it’s right up my street. lol

I bought this a year or so back at release. I thought it had loads of potential until I heard the American accents. Might have to give it  another go!
