VLC86 Posted 20 September 2014 Share Posted 20 September 2014 So my keyboard stopped working on my MacBook Air overnight. I took it to an Apple shop who took it in and after a week called me to say the top case had became disconnected. At this point I could access all features using another keyboard. When I went to collect it I was told it infact wasn't that and the logic board had gone and it would cost near on £400 to replace. My question is would I have been able to use my laptop with a plug in keyboard if the logic board was buggered? Doesn't seam right to me and I get the impression Apple might have messed it up even more.
Beliall Posted 20 September 2014 Share Posted 20 September 2014 sounds like they did. laptop keyboards are connected by a wire that plugs into the motherboard, it was probably loose.
VLC86 Posted 6 October 2014 Author Share Posted 6 October 2014 Took it back to PC world on the advice of a mate who works for them. Paid £50 to look at it under the principle that if it was a manufacturer fault they fix it free of charge... Turns out to be exactly that! buzzing!
