City table £7.9m bid for Croatian striker Kramaric

Recommended Posts

now that other clubs are aware that he isnt necessarily going to chelsea, do you think no one is going to come out of the woodwork with an offfer to match ours  ?? we cant be the only ones who have been watching him. would be really surprised if this went smoothly and put to bed within the next 24 hours.

I doubt it.

You don't suddenly jump in on a player at that sort of price in the Jan window.

It's us or Chelsea and out on loan.

A Rijeka-based radio station are confident the 23-year-old has agreed a move to the Foxes, costing the Premier League strugglers an initial £7m with future bonuses of £2.5m.

The Croatian hitman had been sceptical about joining Nigel Pearson's side due to their position at the foot of the table, but has seemingly been assured he will be sold should the club lose their top-flight status in the summer.

Leicester are understood to have offered Kramaric - who has bagged 28 goals in 30 outings this term - a weekly wage of £28,000 which runs out in 2019.

The report claims: "Andrej Kramaric has travelled to London with his father and agent Joza Kramaric along with Rijeka's Managing Director Ivan Mance, where he will have the last round of negotiations with Leicester City.

"If nothing changes until tonight or early tomorrow, Kramaric should sign a five-year contract with a transfer fee of €12m (£9.5m) to be paid to Rijeka.

"That offer was sent 15 days ago but was refused by Kramaric as he wanted to sign for a stronger side than Leicester.

"But after a couple of meetings with Rijeka's chairman Damir Miskovic, Kramaric has changed his mind and agreed to Leicester City's offer.

"Reports state his salary will be close to €1.5m (£1.15m) per season and also say Leicester City will be prepared to sell him in the summer window should they get relegated from the Premier League."

I think if we do stay up and he has a part to play which I should hope so with the price tag, then I reckon he will stay with us for another 2 seasons before moving to a bigger club, if we go down then we sell him its not a bad situation really.

lets just hope we can stay up.

Think we will kick him out as he will bust us in FFP terms I guess , and how much of that report is true ? If he comes he has to be and will be given a huge welcome

You can imagine Chelsea mugging leicester off during talks .....calling us crap and small club in small town etc...

Rijeka-based agent Predrag Racki, though, suggested Leicester may very well be the best option for Kramaric.

"Kramaric and his father had their brains washed regarding Leicester's position in the league table -- like they'll get relegated, go bust or disappear," he told Sportske Novosti. "And what if Leicester stay up? They have another 19 games left -- nothing's decided yet. And what if the owner refreshes the team with new signings worth 40 million?"

He warned that Kramaric would, along with fellow Croatians Matej Delac, Mario Pasalic and Stipe Perica, fail to make the grade for the Blues.

"If he chooses Chelsea, Kramaric won't ever set foot on the Stamford Bridge pitch," he said. "He'll get lost in Holland, just like Delac, Pasalic or Perica. All that 'glitter' lasts two or three days.

"It's true that Leicester doesn't sound that attractive, but the 19 games for such a player is a real opportunity to showcase his talent. Prove yourself -- you either got it or you don't."

You've got to be realistic though. This is the price you pay for being bottom. He's got no real connection to Leicester. I wouldn't blame someone who had Chelsea after him for not wanting to play in the Championship.

This is phenomenal from us. When does the bottom side ever beat the top side to someone?
