They will want comments from the player, comments from the manager, maybe even the owners for big transfers. Shirts need printing up, pictures need taking and editing. Articles need writing, checking and approving (although they don't do a great job of that), it will need putting through social media etc. It's a professional football club, there is a bit more to it that slapping up a rushed article on a blog with a dodgy picture.
