Has Anyone Booked a Holiday Yet?

Yeah I need to go to the North Yorkshire coast. Anywhere you would recommend?

I like Whitby out of season when the tides are up and whipping in the waves, all log fires and warm pubs with fresh fish and chips.

Having a great trip to Madrid at the moment. Fly back tomorrow night (all being well with the potential weather back home 🤞🏻). Lots of sightseeing, evening at a Flamenco show, nice hotel. Been to Toledo today, and booked a Bernabeu museum tour tomorrow before coming home - stadium tour is limited due to the renovations ongoing

Don't make @grobyfox1990think he's missed another trip :D

Is Cornwall nice out of season, i.e. not school holidays?

He's the only poster I feel I need to clarify with now lol

We only went once, for 2 weeks in school holidays. We much prefer Dorset and Hampshire, even Devon. Really couldn't understand all the hype about Cornwall, and never went back.

Go on Goth weekend…. You won’t forget it!

Amazing pubs and fish and chips…. It does get completely rammed at times though

Decent weekend in Budapest, although mainly stuck to the tourist areas which is our fault. It's fun and easy and there are very little rules which is the good thing about Eastern Europe but it's becoming so plastic now. Large parts of Europe seem to be slowly homogenising into Western Europe to cater for tourists who do not want to confront their overbearing anxiety, needlessly high stress levels and mental fragility in case ANYTHING GOES WRONG, consequence is everything works and is just a bit blah.

Booked Baku for 4 days for the f1 next month which I am really looking forward to, @fuchsntfany tips on some adventures outside of the city?

I’m with you Debs ..  Cornwall was a fantastic place but is now rammed with tourists, very commercialised, and you can’t drive through any of the small villages ..  Devon is much better and Dorset and my favourite, Somerset, better still.
Similar situation on the east coast near Blakeney .. we used to love going there and having long walks out to see the seals ..  now you can’t move for tourists ..  :(

Hey..it's awhile back, and probably better organised..but Gobustan National park...Volcanos and other nature interests.or Yanag dag tour, burning mountain I believe you can take a day tour, seeing also other interests..mosques & temples.Maybe a tour that takes all in,but will be a long but interesting day...

No idea of today's costs, but for only 4 days it would be a good shout..

If one has extra-pennies, private one family group guides, are more available.

More guide time and more information.

Many things have changed ( for tourists the better) since I hung a leg,it was still unknown...

I believe just as a pointer for the modern traveller, Trip advisor can be a first door opener..For those taking short trips ,but want something different to the city only.

.I am a lazy git, I haven't looked myself,too busy keeping the nurses away..and tired after operations..

Ps.just reread be your post..

Even more adventurous...might be if you find time is a trek... Towards

Khanalig-Galakhudat but maybe you might need 2-3 days to organise and get going..Though knowing Baku growth, there might be tours..:dunno:

Great place to visit and have stopped there a few times on north east footy weekends  ..  great for a pub crawl ! ..  we went during a goth weekend and you’d get in free if you were dressed up ..  we all had false fangs for about 50p and that did the trick ..  in fact I’ve found the other teeth in my 50p assortment pack in a draw ..

Finally booked Valencia after a bit of a delay!

Return East Midlands flights and match tickets for their game against Villarreal on 3rd May (hoping it don't get moved but took the risk) £100 each.

Miss the Everton game too and we win when I'm away so happy days.

We fly at 11am on Sunday. So I’ll be there at the desk at 7am. So I’ll park at 6am. So I’ll leave home at 4am. So I’ll lie here on Friday night staring at the ceiling instead of sleeping wondering what things I haven’t packed and if my scales are out so our cases are over the weight limit.

Going on holiday is way more stressful than it ought to be.

You're somehow turning it into a stressful experience...

Don't sweat forgetting to pack anything, unless it's prescription medication or your passport, anything else can be purchased on arrival. We deliberately do that with toiletries etc to keep the luggage weight down.

I’ve managed to control my assorted conditions on regular days, but this is way outside my normal comfort zone 😂

If you're managing assorted conditions on regular days, then I apologise, as a deviation from routine will bring stress.

We're off in 3 weeks, I've just cracked out the holiday spreadsheet checklist :D

How many times will you check you've got your passport and ask the Mrs if you switched the hearing off and locked all the doors?😁🙄

Have a great holiday pal

PMT

passport

money

tickets

everything else is a bonus

give yourself an extra couple of hours in bed…. No need to be at the airport for more than 2 hours before flying…. Allow 3 if that makes you feel more comfy

check in online and download the boarding pass to your phone…. Print it out too if that makes you feel more comfortable…. Bag check in takes no more than 10 mins

It is in your power to view the airport as the start of the holiday…. I want to see a selfie of you looking excited with a pint of strong continental lager at 9am in spoons!!!

Have a great time!

Top tip…. Spend the first day of your holiday decompressing…. A nice book in a nice spot and a spot of nice lunch !
