Smuts' NFL Thread

Recommended Posts

I've always wanted to give NFL a go but the time difference, length of the games, and the fact I know very little about it always seemed like too much of a barrier.

But I caught up with the Super Bowl the next day on iPlayer and absolutely loved it! Now I'm gutted that it was the last game of the season lol

I subscribe to The Athletic so I'll probably read some American Football articles on there before September. Can anyone recommend any good podcasts or written media to consume in the off-season?

When I was very young, my dad went to the States and brought me back some 49ers merch so I think they will be my adopted team from next season.

You'll soon find yourself addicted, the offseason is long but lots to look forward to. Free agency/scouting combine in March, draft in April, then you get rookie training camps and OTA's in the summer before full on training camp in August.

I'm a Seahawk though, so you can stick your 49ers! :D

Most teams will do podcasts on YouTube either daily or often weekly. I'm a broncos fan and we have podcasts 1/2x day so plenty to listen too. Try following your team on YouTube for interviews and access then it should lead you to content to watch etc.

Get yourself down to a game in London. They're great fun. Take 3 hours and you can take alcohol to your seats.
