Cheater spent just eight months at Fosse, signing in January 1904 before moving on to sign for South Wigston Albion in August of the same year, and he made just six league appearances for the club.
Born in Leicestershire, the full-back started out at Albion before Fosse took a chance on him. He achieved county selection thanks to his form at his first club and Fosse snapped him up just days later.
It was to prove an unsuccessful stint but Cheater's return to Albion saw him become captain and he also won the 1905 County Cup final, where his side beat the Fosse second team.
