Worley's career at City was brief, making just one substitute appearance and one start for the club in a tough era. His one start was one to instantly forget, coming in a game at Stoke City where the Foxes suffered relegation to the third tier for the first time. It wasn't Worley's fault, but Holloway's decision to give him his debut as an extra midfielder to try and avert defeat was controversial nonetheless.
Born in Warrington, he came through the academy at Stockport County before Chelsea flashed their cash to take the promising young defender to their youth set-up. However, Worley didn't get anywhere to the Chelsea first team and had numerous loan stints away from the club to get first team action.
He played on loan at Doncaster and Carlisle before Ian Holloway took him on-loan with view to a permanent deal. Despite his lack of action and City's relegation, Worley got a permanent deal with City but never got a look in once Nigel Pearson succeeded Holloway as manager. He had numerous loan spells away from the Foxes before switching to Oxford United on a permanent basis.
