The German youngster's time at City was both brief and unfortunate as he tried to impress manager Martin O'Neill initially on trial and then during a one-month contract.
Starting out at FC Koln before moving to Belgium, Lenhart arrived on a bosman free transfer in September 1996 on trial and impressed O'Neill enough to earn a one-month contract.
A former German youth international, he made his debut as a substitute in a League Cup match against Scarborough at Filbert Street but that was to be his only appearance for the Foxes. He broke a bone in his foot in a reserve match and on return did not get his deal extended.
Lenhart took some time out of the game but returned to action with Wuppertaler SV in the lower leagues in Germany before returning to England with Grimsby Town. That didn't provide platform for greater things and the winger returned to his homeland to feature for numerous lower-league sides.
