Hill's two years as a Fox were split between Midland League and Football League competition - making 20 appearances in both and 13 more in the FA Cup.
Joining from Middlesbrough Ironopolis and after starting his career with Leith Rangers, the jet-heeled outside-right made his debut in September 1893 in the Midland League clash against Burton Wanderers in the final season of the competition.
Hill was also part of the first Leicester team to play in the Football League, debuting in the Second Division. He was one of five Scots in that team and played for his country as a junior.
He moved on to play for Glossop North End after his stint with Leicester before finishing his career with West Herts.
