Player Profile |
---|
Howe was a player who chalked up an appearance record for the Foxes bettered by only two players - in the wartime period.
The Rugby-born defender did manage some appearances in league football before wartime football kicked-off and, after guesting for a couple of clubs, went on to make 209 wartime appearances in the blue and white, chipping in with nine goals along the way.
Howe played at left-back and only played part-time for the club before he ended his stay and moved on to Notts County, where he made over 50 appearances. A broken leg ended his spell at Meadow Lane and Howe took on a player-coach role at his hometown club before stepping up as player-assistant manager back in Leicestershire with Hinckley United.
