Greenhalgh started his career with Preston North End and moved on to Aston Villa before being brought to City in an attempt to aid the Foxes' battle against relegation in 1969.
Signed with just a few months to go before the end of the season, the Chesterfield-born striker had little impact in the Leicester attack, making just two starts and two substitute appearances without finding the back of the net during his brief time at Filbert Street. He'd enjoyed a decent goalscoring ratio with Villa but that wasn't rekindled until a move to Cambridge later in his career.
Disappointing as a Fox, Greenhalgh moved on just a matter of months later, to Huddersfield Town, where he played a bit-part in the Terriers' Division Two championship season before moving on to Cambridge where he was given more time on the pitch and found the back of the net on a more regular basis.
