Roxburgh is one of the few men who can claim to have played for both of Leicester's major sporting sides - City at football, and Leicester Tigers at rugby union.
First he played for City for two years between 1920 - when he signed from his hometown club Rugby Town - and then took a three-year gap from football, when he played for the Tigers.
Scottish-born, Roxburgh was raised in Rugby and started his career with the town's football club before catching the eye of City. He played as an inside-forward and ended up playing 19 league games for the club, scoring twice along the way.
He played as fly-half for the Tigers after seemingly giving up football, but a knee injury suffered whilst playing with the oval shaped ball saw him make a return to football. His return came through a second stint with Rugby and he also had a spell with Leicester Nomads.
