Hogg was a homegrown goalscorer who was the last player to sign for Leicester before the start of the war. Fosse were actually part of a complaint from local club St Andrews, where he was top scorer before the Foxes whisked him away for a trial.
He made his debut against Blackpool at home as an amateur and scored but could only play seven Football League matches before the war, scoring two goals. He continued to feature during the war, starting 13 matches and adding four more goals.
He also played a few games for City reserves before playing local football.
