Born in Luton, Holden, a central defender, actually came through the youth ranks at City and made a positive impressive playing for the club's reserve team before he got the call-up to first-team affairs.
He made just one appearance for the Foxes, and that was in a fiery local derby clash against Derby County, which the Rams won 2-1. That game aside, Holden's inexperience counted against him as no more first-team chances came his way.
He'd enjoyed a loan spell at Carlisle United to gain more experience and it was Carlisle where he returned permanently in search of more first-team action. His career never truly took off as he went on to play for clubs including Rushden and Diamonds, Kettering Town, Cambridge City and Histon.
