Flanagan played just four league games for Fosse in a short six-month spell. Born in Birmingham, he played inside forward for Aston Villa Reserves before moving on to play for Burton Wanderers, where he scored just once in nine matches in their final season in the Football League.
He targeted more first-team opportunities with Fosse but they didn't come. He was made available on a free transfer just six months after signing for the club and it's believed he played local Birmingham football on his departure.
He did move overseas, to Belfast, for a spell and also had a stint in Scotland to bring his career to a close.
