The Dubliner spent a loan spell at City for a month between October and November 1987, making five appearances after he debuted in a home match against Hull City.
He came through Ireland’s famous Cherry Orchard set-up and become a regular for his country thanks to his performances for both Derby County, who brought him over to England, and then Birmingham City before he moved on to Oxford United, from where he joined the Foxes on loan.
Despite only making five outings for Leicester the club were interested in signing him on a permanent basis but the demand for a transfer fee from Oxford prevented the club from keeping him for any longer.
Spells at Bournemouth, Peterborough United and Ramsey Town respectively followed as Langan played long beyond his prime.
